Fine follow up to the platinum single ‘Sugar Man’

The guys from Downunder are back with another catchy disco house tune. Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP follow up their massive hit ‘Sugar Man’ with ‘Soul Makossa (Money)’.

Makossa is a Cameroonian urban musical style that features strong electric bass rhythms and prominent brass. Makossa, means ‘I dance’ in the Douala language (a local dialect in Cameroon).

The original version of ‘Soul Makossa’ was released in 1972 by Cameroon saxophonist and songwriter, Manu Dibango. It is often cited as one of the first disco records. The song was made famous by New York radio DJ Frankie Crocker. Soul Makossa was played heavily by Crocker on WBLS, New York’s leading black radio station at the time.

The official video is still to come. In the meantime, check out the teaser below and keep listening to Massive to hear it across the day.
